SACRAMENTO, Calif. —
A family-owned clothing store in the north Sacramento area was broken into Wednesday night, and it was all caught on camera.

Not only did their surveillance video capture two young people vandalizing their store, it also shows two separate Sacramento Police Department vehicles driving by the burglary-in-progress and not stopping.
"The couple now said they felt helpless and not sure if the police department has their back. (Really?) It's something we're going to look into," department spokesperson Zach Eaton said, in part. Eaton also responded to the family's feelings of distrust of the police department. (Really?)
"We will be in contact with that family in hopes of satisfying some of their uneasy feelings about that, and we certainly apologize they feel that way," Eaton said. (That is so nice of them)
Officials say officers did respond to the store about 10 minutes after the burglary happened." (Annnnnd, another family just figured out how fucking worthless cops are...sure glad the cops all cashed their paychecks and went home safe!)
From the video: "I'm feelin' real physical righ naw. Imma step outsahdrawquic..."
There's the problem. Disposition to violence.
I've had people steal expensive shit from me. In one case, I had a *conversation* with the person like a grown man...and surprisingly I got an apology and my stuff back. In another case, words were exchanged and I finally called the cops...aaand got my stuff back. Not once did I get so fucking choked up over the urge to beat someone's ass that I had to say "I better step outside because I feel I can't control myself".
Gotta love how everyone thinks other people have perfect knowledge of events that they can't predict. Oh, the cops drove by a crime in progress... do you think they knew that there was something going on? Why? Do any of you know how the "my house is being robbed!" Message goes from your phone call, to the responding officer?
The police has no Constitutional duty to protect you. See Warren v. DC and Castle Rock v. Gonzalez. The latter was decided by the Supreme Court
