I find it very hard when we go to a pound. so many trusting eyes looking at me. sometimes I would like to take them all home. but there is no way I could feed and take care of them all. the last great dog we had was Slim. he was a roadie in a cage all by himself and he went nuts when I walked by him. (we went there to get her a cat too ) didn't find a cat she liked. but Slim was still trying to get me to notice him. so, asked to look at him and he was all over my ass. so he came home with us. he did turn out to be a great dog too. he was great with little kids, he looked for them and sat by them. kids did things to him that scared the hell out of me. he would just lick their face until they let go. my one neighbor used to bitch that getting his little girls in was impossible with him in HIS yard. yes, he would go over there and sit with his kids. we still miss that big goofy old dog. we would love to get another one just like him, but that might be asking too much. dave in pa.
I took my little dog fishing with the kids Saturday, she learned not to mess with catfish, not to eat worms & don't try to hide a bluegill from me & try to eat it. Her paw is better but it might be another day or two before her belly calms down.
Pretty darn special.
