I remember Nanci Griffith from years back, when she had a hit with "More Than a Whisper". I have a couple of her CDs, but don't visit them these days, since I listen mostly to classical.
However, I did recently revisit some bluegrass, so if that's something you like, you might want to check out Mean Mary - she's quite the banjo picker. - Mr. Mayo
If I may-no mistake. You were kindly and patiently pointing out the obvious that Suzy Bogguss just wasn't there on your post. And given some of these comments on your other posts, you have the patience of a Saint. I don't know how you do it...
What the fuck does her passing away have to do with it? We all do that. I didn't say she didn't sound good. How many things do you not do because of politics?
Meaningful to me for starters - it's my blog, remember? At least Mark acknowledged her talent instead of just throwing something out there that didn't have a fucking thing to do with the post.
Here's a link to her performing "Love At The Five and Dime" on Austin City Limits which I think is one of the best performances that show ever had. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2GK462XnRjQ
Boots of Spanish leather is one of the greatest songs ever written by Bob Dylan.

I agree, but I absolutely can't stand to hear him sing it. Or anything else for that matter.
DeleteTotally agree with that. He's got a voice for sign language.
DeleteBwahahahaha. I'll have to remember that one.

Three Flights Up and These Days are pretty good too.
ReplyDeleteYou have great taste: Nanci Griffith & Suze Boggus- what a fine pair!
ReplyDeleteI don't know how to tell you this but all 3 videos are of Nanci Griffith.
DeleteTrue, but in the past you've also posted Suze Boggus on your site, too. Both Nanci & Suze are easy to like, they're good and they are not Aerosmith...
DeleteMy mistake. I thought you meant that one of the videos was a Suzy Boggus video. The visual quality on a couple of them aren't that good.

DeleteWell, I wouldn't go so far as to compare me to a saint, but thank you.
DeleteHer best IMO- Love at the Five and Dime.
ReplyDeleteAnother democrat. LBJ!
ReplyDeleteLeave politics out of my music. It doesn't have shit to do with how well she sings or plays.
DeleteBesides, she passed away a couple years ago.
What the fuck does her passing away have to do with it? We all do that. I didn't say she didn't sound good. How many things do you not do because of politics?
DeleteOkay, let me put it this way: If you don't have anything meaningful to add to the conversation, how about just shutting the fuck up?
DeleteMeaningful to who? Check out Mark down below. Is that a better way to phrase it?
