My first impulse was to agree to pull them out. Because that's a good idea ANYWAY. Anyone who still has their kids in public schools has decided they want them to become trans gay commies, IMHO. Yes, this applies no matter how "conservative" the area you live in supposedly is. Or how involved you are with the school. Or how well you know their current teacher. (Because no matter how good the teacher is, it's the system they're required to teach in and the rules and curriculum they're required to teach.)
But you're right too. You can never tell what's really going on in their head unless you ask what they meant with that picture.
Used to be when a six-year-old produced a drawing like this teachers would immediately have suspected some sort of molestation or grooming might be going on at home. Nowadays the parents have to suspect it is going on at school.
I tellz yiz wut, if I were a young parent right now I would not let my children anywhere near a school. I'd teach them how to read and write and do their sums, and then I'd turn them loose on whatever books I deemed important or interesting or horizon broadening.
I don't care WHAT it might mean for our standard of living. I would DIE before I'd let my kids be subjected to this vicious Clown World mentality. If we had to live in a TENT near a university library, I'd do that. If I had to shoot looters to keep them from my own home library for my kids, I'd do that. What-the-hell-ever it would take, I'd do it.
Time to ask the child to tell you about the drawing. There could be a logical explanation for what was drawn. Then, make decisions..

Those people are all happy, despite having no arms. Such an uplifting message!

ReplyDeleteNo, they're wearing straightjackets and it's the crotch belt dangling for two of them. Hence the smiles.
ReplyDeleteStarker was here. ;P
I can almost smell the fresh canvas smell from the jacket and the polyurethane foam padding of the cell.
