Neighbors call it 'No Man's Land.' It's sat vacant in the city's Mission District for decades.
The feud to access it has pitted a local business against a group of neighborhood guerilla gardeners - escalating from punches and threats to sledgehammers and power saws.

Seriously, go to the link and watch the video. This guy's screaming "Nobody touches anybody!" as his wife's whacking the shit out of one of the workers.
Damn! That was really a smart way to stave off vulture capitalists. One would think the gardeners would be grateful, but nooooo, being green means you only ever have to TALK about gratitude. If they had any brains, they'd help pay the taxes, help make it a headache the City NEVER wants to face, and compromise.
ReplyDeleteWhy? A gallon of chlordane would solve the 'garden' problem in a few quiet days.
ReplyDeleteGreen people = violence.
ReplyDeleteIf you're going to San Francisco
ReplyDeleteBe sure to wear some flowers in your hair
If you're going to San Francisco
You're gonna meet some gentle people there
Violence cause: Not one had flowers in their hair.
Seems like a simple solution ... whomever pays the back taxes gets the property. Then the city needs to enforce the property rights and hustle the violent gardeners into jail.
ReplyDeleteA couple gallons of roundup at 2 in the morning would fix all that.
ReplyDeleteThis is exactly what entitled is. They have no legal right to use that property yet they believe they can because their hearts are pure.

Nobody touches anybody? Do come on now. If you're in sanfranshitsco, you are getting touched. Right in the prostate, most likely.
ReplyDeleteThis was amusing. I'm not quite sure what to make of it.
ReplyDeleteI have to side with the people putting up the money, paying off the back taxes, and attempting to make a long abandoned property useful again. Those "gardeners" are living on borrowed time no matter what happens here. I can see Newsom banning gardening some day after going on some bizarre climate and White supremacy related rant about it.
I guess some hippies never really grow out of it, they just turn into old entitled pricks. I wonder if they even tried talking things over before resorting to B&Es, threats, and violence. You KNOW if the police in SF actually bother to show up, things have gotten extreme.
