You might see deals that proclaim to save the buyer over 50%. These deals litter the pages of social media sites like Instagram with messages like “DM for orders.”

Ammunition Scam Sites Are Infesting The Internet
The old saying “buyer beware” has now been extended to the Internet age. There has been an epidemic of scams proliferating the World Wide Web, and the firearms community is not immune from criminals trying to separate people from their hard-earned dollars.

For a while I was seeing those sites regularly. In addition to watching payment methods, I look up the addresses and see with google street what really at that address.
ReplyDeleteLAX ammo. I've mostly bought 9mm target ammo from them but sometimes they have a sale and free shipping. They do have an issue if shipping addresses are different from billing address.

I would think that most people who buy ammo by the case have a few sites they deal with and just stick with them. at least that is what I do when I buy ammo. Sg ammo has been always good for free shipping if you buy over 200 bucks worth. something that is not all that hard anymore. dave in pa

ReplyDelete@wildman: Yup. If they don't take standard credit cards, just 'alternate pay methods', that's red flag #1.
DeleteAs always, search the business name and find out more about them before risking your money, but as above, if an internet seller doesn't take credit cards, something is amiss.

I shoot about 6k rounds per year with 99% pistol and I haven't bought any ammo in almost 20 years. At this rate I can shoot for another 20 years. I have purchased powder and bullets. Yep, I reload and I have a good supply of primers.
ReplyDeleteSecond that, though you have to like that sort of thing to make 6k. I do maybe 2 or 3 in a year. It also means each rifle has an optimal load, if you take the time to look for it.

Nothing wrong with the others mentioned, I just want to show TS my appreciation for telling the AG of the Democratic People's Republic of Massachusetts to fuck off, it's not illegal for us to ship ammo to your inmates. Other's have followed suit, but unless they don't have what I need, TSUSA is my first choice.
