NEW JERSEY - A building collapse at a Newark housing complex injured six people, one seriously, and destroyed three apartments Friday evening.
"It was a little after 6 o’clock, and it was a loud noise, boom!" said Toby Marmorino, a Newark resident who lives in the Steven Crane housing complex..
The apartment that blew was "undergoing renovation" according to the write up. I'd start looking at the crew doing to the work. Were they citizens? "Newcomers" ? Did anyone speak 'Murican? Building permits anyone? The guy "too busy working" to complain? Something not right there too.
Probably a gas leak, now the question is what got stolen from the empty apartment to cause it.
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't a building collapse. It was a gas explosion.
ReplyDeleteBuildings spontaneously imploding, calling into question their shoddy, low-budget construction.
ReplyDeleteHaiti leaps irresistibly to mind.
"They were doing construction on the apartment below it. It was vacant."
ReplyDeleteI can see this, "Knock out that wall to make this open floor plan! No, its not structural".

ReplyDelete..."now just a heap of busted bricks and broken appliances. resident so they could feel the blast when it happened." That's some top notch reporting.
