I saw a Jewish man in a skull cap in a shopping mall - no one cared. As long as you don't show your ass in public (in all senses of the phrase) it's an easy place to live. However, it ain't America and ANYTHING that disturbs the peace is gonna get you in big trouble.
When in Rome, do as the Romans. Laws are different in other countries and certain behaviors are not tolerated. That said, it seems there is an ongoing scam by rental companies in Dubai where they are holding people's belongings hostage (although why would you not clear a car of your stuff before it was hauled away?). Does not excuse her behavior nor does it mitigate the punishment for that behavior. Their country, their rules. My first thought was that she behaved as she would here--screaming and probably cussing which does not fly there.

Interesting article at that website about five young men caught with weapons converted to automatic, and the two judges that cut them loose with $10K bail each. One place throws the book at you for throwing a tantrum, the other cuts you loose for weapons violations. Then again, one of the judges is on Fbook writing about keeping some young men "out of the criminal pipeline".
I do not believe the story the mother conjured up at all. If she was a passenger in a friends rental car why did the rental have her stuff? Also, Nope you can't go to other countries and act like a spoiled brat Americian that she apparently is. Fuck er. I hope she pulls some time.
My guess is that she left her stuff in the car after the accident, because she was shaken up and not thinking clearly. I don't think I have ever yelled at anyone in public in my life, but I would never, ever, travel in a Muslim country. I am too used to having freedom. Even if I knew the rules in advance, I am not sure I would not just revert to habit and do what I am used to doing (driving without an escort, walking in front of a man, and a thousand other nit-picking rules that apply only to females).
I'd be willing to bet dollars to donuts that if a video is released (kinda surprised I haven't seen any cell phootage) that she was the one who started screaming. I don't care what the customs/race/religion are, I cannot believe that someone in the retail industry in a world wide hub would start a screaming match.
