Your Wednesday Morning Florida Report

A 67-year-old Wildwood man has been jailed after allegedly attempting to use a pickup to run over a convicted sex offender.

William Harold Bailey went to the sex offender’s residence on County Road 121 shortly before noon Thursday and “aggressively” confronted the sex offender, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. He allegedly took a swing at the sex offender, who was not identified in the report.

  1. If the courts won't deliver justice to the citizens, they will organize and take it! Start putting heads of 'released offenders' on judges and DAs doorsteps!
Don't they get that? The laws of the judiciary are an expression and extension of the populace. Whats happening is they are trying to enforce their desires onto the citizenry through laws, rather than acting as a reflection of their desires. The tail is attempting to wag the dog.

  4. reading a few of the comments, I think The Villages are populated by very deep blue New Yawkers and Choiseyites who've moved down here to obtain relief from the oppressive taxation supporting the people they want to get away from in the first place.

  5. I'm with anon @ 0551. Then we get the 'list', and Bill gets a new truck. With a nice grill guard.

  6. Was the "unnamed" sex offender guilty of showering with his young daughter and sniffing other girls' hair?

  10. Starker here,
"attempted to strike the sex offender, with whom Bailey has had “numerous civil issues with,”"
    What's the backstory?
    It's conspicuously missing.

  11. I would shake Mr. Bailey's hand for his efforts, unfortunately I can't buy him a beer or two because he didn't close the deal.
Better luck next time Mr. Bailey

  12. I was laughing because they never used the term victim or complainant, only sex offender.

  13. I read somewhere that almost 100% of murders where the shooter was more than 200yds away are not solved. Just saying.

  14. Yes, I read his crime in the comments, kiddie diddler, however, just about anything can land someone on the "sex offenders list" and it really needs to be done away with, largely due to crap like this. Trial was held, the crime was punished, after that, people need to be able to move on with their lives. If the punishment is inadequate then change the damn law; making it up along the way is unacceptable in a country that allegedly has the rule of law.

Having one's home of record on a public database is effectively a target. "William Harold Bailey went to the sex offender’s residence..." "Numerous civil disturbances" Uhh, what was Bailey doing there other than likely causing trouble? The news article has the nerve to list the street, effectively doxing this person to anyone else that wants to cross reference it and go stir the pot, nevermind the comments.

Mob and vigilante "justice" is anything but; it's criminal activity and anyone can be next in line for it.
