WASHINGTON -- North Korea on Wednesday claims the U.S. Army private who crossed the border with South Korea in July had "expressed his willingness to seek refuge" in the secretive country after becoming disillusioned with American society.

Let him stay there. Why is the government even trying to get him back? It's not like they're going to put him in front of a firing squad for treason. And jailing him for desertion just costs the US taxpayer.
