  1. Hahah, now thats funny.
On advice of my breeder, I incorporated hand signals into the voice command training... worth the effort. I can put my hand up (like the gesture in that pic), and he freezes on the spot. Snap my finger and point to my heel, he comes running. No words at all. Impresses the hell out of people.

  3. Pup is in very early training. One day he will know what that means. Right now he's trying so hard to do what the guy wants. Thinking hard. Ie you look close the master moves his thumb just a bit to the left and the pup immediatly puts his chin in the web. Thar, I finally figured out what ta hell he wanted. Smart, smart dog. Probably smarter than most people I know.

  6. Border collies are extremely smart dogs, they are also active and need a job to do otherwise they become very destructive....

    1. Cute baby. Same with ACDs, though they seem well content keeping the wildlife a quarter mile out. Smart, too. He got quilled once and learned that lesson. First dog ever.
They know what I'm doing before I do.

  7. Border collies were bred to be smart enough to figure out what stupid thing the sheep are about to do and stop it before it starts. But they were also bred to work long hours - if you don't give them enough to do, they'll figure out something to do for themselves. That makes them rather challenging pets.

We get it. You're as smart as the average man.
