A while back, a friend in upstate NY failed his water test. He has a remote place that relies on well water. The sewer guys came out, put a green dye in the septic, and told him they’d be back to check the leach field.
A day or so later, he was getting yellow green water out of the pipes. Just like the picture here.
He needed a new well, much deeper, on other side of house if he wanted to stop drinking his own piss.
Sodium fluorescein dye. The city will also put it in the water main to verify that a leak is theirs. Supposedly not toxic. Its also what makes antifreeze green.
Perfect for making weiners....
