  2. He did a great job with that! And I'm glad to see somebody actually putting okra in it! :-)

    1. That's right, they can keep that Creole stuff. Give me that okra.

    1. That's all right, try it without the prawns.
I can eat fried rice every day. My wife makes the best I've ever eaten and she's not even Asian! I just wish she'd make it more than every couple months.

    2. For your consideration: Ono Hawaiian Recipes on YouTube. The Hawaiian style fried rice is the bomb. Lived there for 26 years, her recipes are just like being there.

I'll be trying the Cajun version shortly.

  4. My man has a nice setup going and he did a great job with that dish. We Cajuns don't, as a rule, use much soy sauce in our cooking but variety is the spice of life...... 👍

  6. For seasoning, I recommend: https://solatac.com/index.php/product/solatac-cajun-seasoning-8oz/ . They also have good med stuff.

  7. Man, that looked like some good grazing ! Now I'm REALLY hungry ! Cajun restaurants here are fairly rare and those that exist are very expensive to eat at. Thanks for the link.

  8. Okra reminds me of eating boiled snot. Had one piece once. After one chew, spit it out and almost puked. IMHO that stuff is NASTY. Like eating raw oysters, just less chewy.

    1. I've always called them Snot Pods. They are so gross that wildlife won't eat them.

  9. Swop the okra for green sweet peas, add some chicken, and you got a nice paella. Not a GREAT paella,but...This is what I do. Being a single guy, cooking is a pain. Got a sleeve of 50 1 pint size to-go boxes from the big river store. Whomp up a mess of something like this, a bunch of pasta with stuff, an echilagna, a big vat of chicken and dumplings, and a half gallon of singapore noodles, box 'em up, stack 'em in the freezer. But, yanno, I get bored. But cooking for one is ass. I mean, I mean, I mean, why did I just have a bolgney sammich for dinner?

Key is the griddle. Since I got my Blackstone, I rarely use the grill. I use the griddle several times a week.
