CHICAGO — Two off-duty police officers were robbed at gunpoint in Pilsen on Sunday morning. And, like most robbers in Chicago, they got away.
The two officers, men ages 28 and 30, were walking in the 1000 block of West 16th Street when four men rolled up in a gray Nissan sedan around 4:10 a.m. The robbers got out, took the cops’ phones and wallets at gunpoint, and then drove away.
A friend was in NYC on shore leave. He got robbed. As robber leaves, friend calls out, You forgot something! Robber turns around and is plugged. He bleeds out and dies. Cops arrive and say, Thanks. No report, no charges. But there was a Capt's Mast. Firearm was confiscated for 60 days and friend was reduced half pay for one month.
Do Chicago cops have carry permits, or are they authorised to carry a gun ex officio?
ReplyDeleteIn the latter case, they would be un-armed when off duty, like cops here in Oz.
unbelievable...
ReplyDeleteWow, just wow.
ReplyDeleteChicago criminals don't have any professional courtesy at all.
Men? I think no.
