It only took one more day for that benchmark to be eclipsed.
On Tuesday, the average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline was nearly $6.03 in the L.A. area, according to AAA.

Here in Lafayette it's $3.38 at Walmart, $3.49 everywhere else, at least when I was in town yesterday.
Remember what I said about Biden depleting the SPR yesterday?

$3.99 for 87octane in BH SoDak. And Sturgis rally is a month and a half gone.
ReplyDeleteBeen running $3.19 or so around here, outside Athens, Ga proper. I put a record, for me, $62 worth in my classic Durango yesterday. Usually I don't let it get so low.
ReplyDeleteI filled up at Costco for $2.98 on regular yesterday here in NE ATL. There is a Circle K selling diesel for $3.79 but everybody else is $4.09 or higher.
ReplyDeleteHere in Georgia, Gov Kemp suspended GA tax on gas at the pump. Only for 30 days, but it will save us twenty cents a gallon. I'll take it with a smile.
ReplyDeleteGas tax is 31.2 c/ gal in ga, Coffeepot, but our local stations' prices only went.dowwn by about 26 c.....

BTW, how're you doing?....miss your blog.
Gas prices are $3.39 @BJ's to $3.89 across ~30 local stations. Currently $3.69 where I usually by my gas. I filled up last week @$3.35. Oil is currently priced @$90.75/bbl rising from $67.70 on June 27, 2023 thanks to Bribem giving the finger to the Saudi's and stopping most new domestic drilling and fracking.

$3.89/G is the going price in central MD.
ReplyDeleteEd
$3.73 now. That's up from $3.66 about three or four weeks ago. And that was up twenty-four cents in eleven days or so.
ReplyDeleteThis is all planned. When the price drops to $5.99 the day before the next elections people will proclaim "All Hail Joe" and "All Hail Gavin", and will vote for democrats again, all in pure ecstasy and gratitude.
ReplyDeleteCigarettes were about 30 cents a pack when i started smoking in the '60s. Now 60 years later I see it's about 7 bucks thanks to draconian taxes designed to stop people from smoking. Now only about 3% are active puffers. The gas price rising is part of the same plan to keep raising prices and gas cars will dis appear and replaced by EVs. Like with emission controls California leads the way.
ReplyDeleteOver 4 dollars in Denver now.
Delete$4.49 at the Costco by me in Phoenix, AZ.
ReplyDelete$3.29 at Kroger in East Shelby County, TN yesterday.
ReplyDelete$5.09 at the cheap stations (Safeway & QFC) in Belfair WA, a dime more that brand name stations.
ReplyDelete$5.39 (ARCO), $6.59 Mobil in SoCal.
ReplyDeleteBut that was yestetrday.
In Nelson NZ, 91 octane is currently $3.107 per litre at the major brands and $2.996 per litre at the discount outlet. That converts to about $11.75 a gallon.
ReplyDeleteMichael in Nelson
While prices have remained rock steady in Lafayette, Tennessee (yes, I'm watching) prices in NorCal have increased over 50 cents during that same six week time period.
ReplyDeleteMake that more than 60 cents that prices have gone up while it's still $3.49 in Lafayette. It just went up another ten cents.
DeleteSome stations here aren't quite so expensive, but others are now selling gas for more than two dollars more than it is in Lafayette. Incredible.
And Walmart's price here went DOWN a penny yesterday to $3.37 a gallon.
DeleteThe Karen Mini-Mart* is now $5.59. That would be $2.22 higher. Mind boggling.
DeleteTo think Gavin even has a chance of becoming Preezy also blows my mind.
*The Karen Mini-Mart is the place I blew up at Karen after she perceived I was standing too close to her masked face and told me to "Step Away". I have renamed the business in her honor.
Fuel jumped 20 cents a gallon overnight two weeks ago to $4.19. What's frustrating is that we have three refineries within 15 miles. They pipe the refined product south to Denver and west to Seattle with intermediate stops in either Casper or Spokane. Casper prices are cheaper than here, Spokane more expensive.
ReplyDeleteI just paid $3.19/g in Meridian, Ms, down from $3.39/g last week.
ReplyDeleteBiden crime family is doing this on purpose in order to control people and their travels. Same reason as favoring EV vehicles. They can flip the switch and you're outta luck. Time to wake up, folks! Just wait until they implement "digital currency". You'll have automatic rationing and some items (like ammo) just won't be available. Ain't gotta draw me no map, I can smell it!
ReplyDeleteKali usually leads the way in gas prices. But the rest of the country usually follows along sooner or later.
