#1-I've seen so many videos/pics of wooden bridges/docks/rafts/even decks collapsing because of too many people/too much weight (think hot tubs). I can't understand how not ONE person in those groups thinks, "Maybe this is a bad idea".

Those are all $100s. Worth WHATEVER time it takes to put them back together. Will need to take them to a bank though as no machine or small business owner will accept them with all that tape, etc.
You'll need to mail the money to a PO box in DC, you can find the address on-line. Well that's what I had to do with some burnt 100s, no banks would deal with them. They told me about sending to money away, it took a while before the money showed up again.

1) I think the photographer knew what he was doing when he had everyone get together for the group photo.
