Next thing you know, the IRS will be going after drug dealers and thieves

FOX 17 News Nashville--Tennesseans know all to well the experience of trying to get a ticket to see your favorite entertainer, musician, or athlete can be outrageously pricey due to ticket resellers but the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) will now be pinching the pockets of resellers in return.

  1. Wow! This could lead to the government taxing investor's unrealised capital gains.

  2. Really, I don't feel all that bad for price gougers who just scoop up tickets they have no interest in just to charge someone else more. But this isn't unique to ticket sales...every service that lets people sell stuff is subject to the $600 'must send a 1099' limit, and everything sold under $600 is on the honor system. Just keep track of your cost basis to offset any profit (or losses).

  3. Hey Mr. IRS man, Hunter Biden is a reseller of influence. Just apply it to the big guy too.
