Toddler lost in Michigan woods found asleep using family dog as a pillow
FAITHORN, Mich. (AP) — A 2-year-old girl who walked away from her home in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula alongside two family dogs was found in the woods hours later sleeping on the smaller dog like a furry pillow, state police said.
I know just how sneaky toddlers can be. But damn, parents have to be aware every second. This happy ending could have been much different, and a real tragedy.
My wife did that when she was a child of about 4. Dog stayed with her whole time. Her parents thought she followed the dog but she remembered it was her leading and the the dog following.
most dog just know to look after kids. my neighbor's granddaughter did things to my old dog slim that scared me to death. all he ever did back was lick her face harder. if the vet or me tried any of that. God only knows what would happen to us. he didn't care much for adults unless he knew you. but little kids, he was all over them like a big teddy bear. dogs just know who to watch out for or over. dave in pa.
Probably not chihuahuas.

ReplyDeleteWe don't deserve them.
ReplyDeleteThat's why we only get to borrow them for a while.

ReplyDeleteWe would be so much lesser if it weren’t for dogs.

Great story. It's a good thing it wasn't a few weeks later. Things may have turned out differently.
