'Bounced like a basketball, he did'

A Florida skydiver who fell to his death over the weekend has been identified, and a resident who witnessed the man fall onto a front lawn is revealing more details.

Frederick C. Morello, 69, of Ormond Beach, was identified as the man who died while solo parachuting just before 12:30 p.m. Saturday, the Titusville Police Department said.

  2. Should be a nice outline crater in the lawn. Back in the mid 80's in Lodi skydiver on the same night jump "went in" on a slight hill side, he left a primary crater and a slight secondary one. Another time some young guy committed suicide at the same drop zone, rolled over on his back and just missed a grape vine in a vineyard, nice outline.

  3. I worked with a guy that jumped out of airplanes. He wore a T-shirt that said, "boogie til you bounce"

  4. Nothing normal about jumping out of a perfectly normal airplane.

    1. Likewise. Like my dad used to say, and he flew often to both Atlantic and Pacific missile ranges in the 50s and 60s, "There no good reason to jump out of a perfectly good airplane!"

    2. I've been to a few jump centers. Not all of them use "perfectly good" airplanes to launch their meat missiles.

  9. I know I can be a bit dark, but if there's video of him hitting the ground and bouncing like a basketball... I'd love to see it.
