Commentary: Turns Out The IRS Is After You, After All

When it was first revealed that the so-called “Inflation Reduction Act” provided funding for 87,000 new IRS agents, Biden administration officials told Americans not to worry. They promised at every turn that these agents would only be set upon those earning over $400,000 a year.

But the Act has done nothing to reduce inflation, so it’s hardly surprisingly to learn now that an army of IRS agents has the middle class in its crosshairs.

  1. There aren't enough people making over 400k a year to keep 87k IRS agents employed. There aren't enough millionaires you can tax to keep the government going. The spending levels require going after the middle class.

    1. 2.8 million people. According to the IRS, a $400,000 or more annual household income represents America's top 1.8% income-earners. Per IRS Publication 6292, there were 154 million tax returns filed in 2019, thus approximately 2.8 million people earn over $400,000. That calculates to 32 tax returns per new agent per year. 2. I am shocked, shocked! to find gambling in my casino!

Pretty sure we all knew this was a damned lie from the word go. I'll also be shocked to find that they're targeting vocal and influential conservatives. The IRS has already been weaponized to destroy the regime's opponents.

  6. The IRS cant touch you if you pull up your mailbox. Do that and you have a fight with the local sheriff. At that point, we have to harden ourselves enough to be able to kill local bureaucrats and their entire families. This is where we are at in America now

  9. The need for more IRS agents will become clear when they begin to tax "Unrealized Capital Gains". If you do not know what that is...you can look it up.

    1. And then they will tax those same funds when you sell. But no refund if those capital gains lose value.

  10. They already tax "Imputed Income". The most common source of "Imputed Income" is insurance death benefits provided by your employer in excess of some made up amount they determine you SHOULD be getting. You pay income tax on the difference, on a benefit you will NEVER collect. Let that one sink in...

  11. Some of us remember the Lois Lerner IRS scandal from the Obama years. There was never a shred of doubt about those new agents.
