The valance above the checkout counter at all CVS pharmacies is Ruby Red, about as close to Blood Red as you can get. One coat of gray tinted primer plus two coats of the Ruby Red would cover just about any other color.
When I was a service plumber in Florida in the 80s we did a lot of work in the more "diverse" part of town. Some of the most popular colors for walls and carpet in people's houses were black and red, black and orange, and the shade of green in #7.

The incompetence of those idiots in #7 is just unreal. They are horrible painters! And that color just doesn't match anything at all. They need fired!
