Oh well, good intentions and all that

Police have arrested two men in the Friday killing of a 40-year-old Pontiac man who often posed as a minor on social media in attempts to catch sexual predators.

Robert Wayne Lee, who ran a popular Facebook page with 11,000 followers using the moniker "Boopac Shakur," confronted two males, ages 17 and 18, seated in a Pontiac restaurant near the corner of North Perry and MLK Boulevard about 10:30 p.m. Friday, according to the Oakland County Sheriff's office.

  1. Shot near MLK Blvd., huh? Color me surprised. No matter the town, that's a street good people should avoid by at least 5 blocks in all directions

  2. The MLK street in my town in Florida is a little stretch that runs between a back road and the main road, less than half a mile long. It runs by the Walmart, the Walmart gas station, one apartment complex, and a tire shop. So we have the street, but it isn't the "bad" part of town by any stretch. Someone might even think it was planned that way.

  5. Eugene, Oregon.
1959, as part of the centennial celebration, local OfficialsAndAuthorities christened the four-lane past the yuge park and stadium.
    Centennial Drive.
Runs for a couple miles into the neighboring city of Springfield.
    .
About a decade ago with all those old-timers gone to their reward, a fresh new batch of OfficialsAndAuthorities changed the Eugene section of Centennial Drive to 'martin luther king junior boulevard'.
    .
A few newcomers call it 'mlk'.
Everybody else calls it 'Junior Blvd'.
    .
Springfield somehow manages to call their section of Centennial 'Centennial'.
A few very clever newcomers to Eugene refer to Springfield as 'Spring-tucky'.
    .
Rumor has it, anybody in Springfield saying the word 'Eugene'... gets their mouth worshed out with soap.
