U.S.A. –-(AmmoLand.com)- This correspondent has been involved in the struggle to restore Second Amendment rights for more than 50 years. For much of that period, many of those who wanted the Second Amendment to be honored in the United States asked a simple question:
Why doesn’t the NRA [or any other pro 2A group] bring a case to the Supreme Court?
The NRA is NOT a 2A rights organization. They are parasites who pander in fear for money raising, while supporting the violation of our rights.
ReplyDelete^^^^^^EXACTLY^^^^^
DeleteEvery gun owner needs to know this. North Carolina almost had constitutional carry. Then the SOB lobbist from the NRA got back from vacation and tanked it. New York needs to finish the NRA off.
DeleteNorth Carolina HAS constitutional carry. The entire US does. We simply lack the will to exercise it.
DeleteNRA was not founded as a gun rights organization (in 1871). It is a marksmanship and training promotion organization. It adopted gun rights advocacy owing to pressure from its membership / election of board members. It will never be a pure gun rights organization. Becoming that would probably violate bylaws.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, NRA fundraises off the issue relentlessly. And Wayne LaPierre is not really interested in gun rights.
Idk, the article says written 11/23/2023 yet, deeper down it claims that at least one more state will adopt constitutional carry by the end of 2021. What gives?
ReplyDeleteAgreed, the comments are from two years ago but the article header says posted 2023. Not sure what's going on there.
DeleteAsking that is kind of like asking why doctors don't prevent disease. The NRA makes it money by suggesting that it favors the 2nd Amendment. If it ever got it nailed down one way or the other there would be no more money for Pierre and his family and friends.
ReplyDeleteIt is the constant threat of 'All or nothing' that allows incrementalization to occur. The threat works on 'gun rights' groups as much as it works on the far left toadsuckers.
ReplyDeleteSadly, lots of supposed 'gun rights' groups are Fudds and there are some that are anti-guns.
If a 'gun rights' group doesn't have overthrowing every anti-gun law as their overall goal, then they're not for gun rights for all, they're for protecting their specific gun rights only.
NYSRPA brought the Bruen case, and those folks maintain the NRA was instrumental in helping it along. OTOH things in NYFS have gone from bad to worse for gun rights. Fun fact: Tom King, president of NYSRPA, was denied on his background check when he tried to purchase ammo after the new system was implemented. I hate NY. MartyB
ReplyDeleteAs far as stiffling the 2A goes the NRA, GOA, Feds, State, Local Law agencies are members of the big circle jerk. Yea there is a "constitutional carry in all states but who wants to step up to volunteer to prove it?
ReplyDeleteFor all of the above reasons, and ...
ReplyDeleteBecause what if they lose the case? They'll forever be known as helping set some very bad legal precedence. And given the corruption and politicization of the US judicial system, what are they odds that they would actually win?
Be very careful what cases one is willing to take to trial, even a bench trial.
