The next governor of Louisiana was elected on October 14, 2023. Louisiana has an unusual primary election, where all candidates are on the ballot. If one candidate obtains more than 50% of the vote in the primary, they are elected governor. On October 14, Jeff Landry (R) won the primary with 51.6% of the vote. Landry is expected to take office on January 8, 2024.
My state. Jeff Landry has always been a man of his word. I have no doubt he will sign it into law when it hits his desk
ReplyDeleteThis particular writer and I have exchanged emails a few times due to his total lack of knowledge about La politics..... What we have is called a jungle primary which is not all that unusual. Win 50% + 1 of the primary vote and you win, no demokrap or republican primaries.. As to whether we get the win or not is not for lack of trying on our part, but this ignorant writer can't be bothered to actually get information from anyone here in the state... Republicans are not what can be called honest here, not anymore than the demokraps and so we have been sold out over this issue several times over the last few years... Do we have an incoming governor that will sign a permit free carry bill, yes, will the lying bastards in the republican super majority send a bill to him is the question... If they were honest they could have easily over road every veto of John Bel but POS politicians will sell you out over their own special interests which is exactly what has happened here.....

"If one candidate obtains more than 50% of the vote in the primary, they are elected governor. "
ReplyDeleteWait, how does THAT work, what if there are TWO? 🤔😇😂🤫
(This IS the 21st century after all.)
There can be only one.

Keep your spirits up, stranger things have happened. Not too long ago the squishy, mealy mouthed, bought and paid for, tyrant wanna be, mask and jab pushing rino governor dewhine signed constitutional carry here in Ohio.
ReplyDeleteThanks, we are in the end game of a state wide election for most all top state offices as well as local elections.... There has been a massive push to kick out those POS rinos we've been stuck with for the past 4 years and longer... So far we have been successful, election day is the 18th so my fingers are crossed..
