Seriously, this scam has been going on for years now.
I might fall for it if the caller said they had my dog.
ReplyDeleteIf my sister got a call like that she'd ask how much would they charge to keep them, and will they take Visa or Mastercard.
ReplyDeleteThey are using AI voice sampling now as part of the newest ones. They pull a voice sample from a video off social media and then get the AI to beg for help in the kids voice.

This happened to my wife and I. A caller claimed that our two teenagers had been kidnapped. We told the kidnappers to keep them and went on a cruise....
