So no Welcome Home party for Dave?

EL DORADO COUNTY — El Dorado County is considering allowing a sexually violent predator to return to its community where he committed his crimes. Dozens of people packed the county Superior Courthouse on Wednesday at a public hearing.

Some of the people who spoke were fighting back tears as no one wanted David Bergey, who the state deemed a sexually violent predator, to be released.

  1. I'm sure some would consider a necktie party.

  2. I'm sure plenty of the locals would come to a blanket party with Dave as the guest of honor.

  3. When the government fails in its duty to protect its citizens, it is the citizens duty to abolish the government.

  4. What happened to "I'm a strong and independent WOMYN, hear me roar"? In the old days, when dads were actually part of the family versus some indentured servant who didn't even live in the same city but still forced to pay child support and alimony, there'd be a "welcome" committee waiting for the rapist when he returned to his home town. An older work colleague originally came from a small fishing village in Canada. Some time in the mid-1950s one of the young toughs in town started getting handsy with the teenage daughters in the vicinity. So, older brothers were sent out to straighten him out and the inappropriate behaviour stopped for a couple of months. Then, apparently, he raped a girl (the girl identified him to her parents). Unfortunately for him, his victim's dad had been an infantryman in the Nova Scotia Highlanders during the war AND so were a lot of the other dads in this little fishing village. My buddy told me the last time they saw the guy was around dusk on a fishing boat going out to sea which was not unusual for young men to make some extra cash during the fishing season. Since the guy disappeared for a few days to a few weeks at time, his disappearance wasn't noted as odd until people realized months later that they hadn't seen him around for a while. Then they just assumed he moved to the "big" city of Halifax where ne'er do wells tended to congregate. Funny thing though, he never came back to visit his folks.

  5. Well, be thankful the Lord is making it is to find him. The victims and their families could do nothing with him behind bars could they?
    But now....
    Yes, I hold a grudge.

  7. The average recidivism rate for treated sex offenders is estimated at 27.9% and 39.2% for their untreated counterparts.

    1. Those numbers include 'sex offenders' who screwed their high school sweetheart when she was underage and he was still in school. And all the men strung up on sex assault charges by ex-wives and ex-girlfriends that are unfounded but because the female said so, the man still gets jammed up.

Actual real sex offenders? More like 75% recidivism rate for treated within the first 5 years, going up to about 90% after 5 years. Untreated about 80% going up to 95% after 5 years.

Child predators? Pert near about 100% across the board, treated or untreated. They will, most likely, offend again within a year at the most of getting out. Most start as soon as they get out.

  9. Proving once again governments officials are either galactically stupid or so arrogant they believe it’s their way or the highway. Well, both actually. Literally found out last week CSU in Fort Collins, CO, got a $12 million “grant” (aka taxpayer monies) from Fauxi’s NIH to build…I kid you not…a Gain of Function bat lab where they will b importing bats from China…because that Wuhan thing worked out so well. Senator has NOT responded to my “Are you people demented!” email. Yes, they are. Money talks, Bravo Sierra walks.

  12. I have a solution for their problems but I doubt the people who believe complaining to their government will solve their problem is willing to follow through with what needs to be done

  14. El Dorado County Sheriffs office has taken a strong position against letting him move back into the county. The Sheriff throws some weight so we'll see. The D.A. office is still all conservatives. Unless the state pulls some shit I don't think he's coming back.

  15. Simple way to handle this. Head goes to the doorstep whomever was in charge of deciding to let him out. Parcel out the rest to everyone else responsible.
