We Will Not Forget: Honor Veterans with a Buddy Check

Veterans Day is a solemn occasion for many. It is a time when we, as a nation, honor those who wore the uniform and stood in defense of all we hold dear. It is a reminder of those who served during war and peace, that those select few swore an oath to defend the U.S. Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic. These are the men and women who picked up a rifle to stand between that which we treasure and those that threaten our way of life.

The holiday started as Armistice Day, marking the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. That’s when WWI, known then as the Great War, ended. That’s the day the guns fell silent.

  1. How real is the appreciation? Most veterans, self included, are working on Veteran's Day.

    1. You think Clinton sucked? You should have been in the military when that asshole Carter was in the wheelhouse.

  5. The guns have never fallen silent, there has always been war and conflict and there always will be. It is just that at times the country we live in may not be involved in one; but somewhere on the planet there is one going on. The only peace we have is the peace granted by having superior firepower and the will to use it.

  6. There’s not as much ‘all we hold dear’ as there used to be.
