A Florida man was arrested after he allegedly punched a 17-year-old boy through his car window in an apparent road rage fit, according to the Marion County Sheriff's Office.
When I last lived in Texas, they had extended the castle doctrine protections to your car. It was said that if someone laid their hand on your door handle or reached into your vehicle, that was felony violent assault of enough severity to justify deadly force in response (at least, that was my interpretation of the law). I am not a lawyer, so following this suggestion on just my word would be foolish.
Assault and battery has nothing to do with your location... Stand your ground is applicable if you're in a place you can legally be and breaking no laws..... Going by that if the state law allows a 17 year old to carry a handgun then it should be a legal shoot.. I don't live in Florida nor do I go there unless absolutely necessary so don't take this as legal advice JD
Yep. Castle Doctrine/Stand your Ground. Allowable depending on what county you're in (leftist shithole Alachua will try to bury you for defending yourself until the Governor's Office tosses a SCUD at the State Attorneys' Office.)
Other than some shitholes, what's wrong with Florida?
I dunno. What I read is the kid was looking for an address. Does that mean going way below the speed limit looking around and to hell with the guy behind him? Guy behind him starts to pass and the kid speeds up? I think that would piss me off too. No I would not have stopped and beat the kid but it does sound like the kid was being a jerk. He should have pulled over and let traffic pass before resuming his search.

ReplyDeleteJust humans being one-way humans. If almost everyone thinks going 20 over the limit is OK, why isn't going 20 under OK too?...Asking for a friend.
ReplyDeleteYou can let your friend know that neither is okay.
DeleteThe kid was fucking with the guy and deserved and deserved a lot more than a punch.
ReplyDelete...based on the article, seems like a good ole case of a punk kid learning about FAFO
