Frank Zappa and Trower performed at the Capital center when this album was released. Zappa's current album at that time was Zoot Alures. Was a fantastic show by both...The teletron focused on Trowers' chord work. His chord work showed a mastery of the guitar.
The first time I heard Bridge of Sighs on the radio I had to pull over the car to the side of the road to listen to it. I was only three blocks from home.
Robin Trower. Most underrated guitarist in the universe. The entire Bridge of Sighs album is magnificent. I turned my metalhead sons on to him as pre-teens and they still feature Day of the Eagle on their weekly podcast.
I used to go to Tower Records back in the early 70's and they used to have huge hand painted album covers on their walls. Trowers "Bridge of Sighs" was one, and it was beautiful, I hope someone still has it....
Bridge of Sighs is right up there with best stoner songs
ReplyDeleteFrank G
James Dewar on bass and vocals. That man had some PIPES!
ReplyDeleteNot I, but it sure could've been. Trower is one of my all-time fave blues men.
