Calls it a honky-tonk, gets pissed when people treat it like one

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Surveillance video captured an attack on two employees at a popular downtown honky-tonk over the weekend.

The owners of Robert’s Western World said actions like that won’t be tolerated at their bar.

*****

Sorry, but when somebody describes the place as a honky-tonk, I'm envisioning fights inside, unshaven bartenders in dirty wife beaters, bouncers flinging unruly customers out the door and into the street, stages screened in with chicken wire, bullet holes in walls, skanky barflies, shit like that. It's a place where a man goes for some action, not a relaxing drink.

It's a good thing overall crime is down in NYC, huh?

NEW YORK - Bodega owners in the Bronx say shoplifting and theft have gotten so bad that they are being forced to literally chain up merchandise to stop those who enter their stores to steal.

Rebuilding U.S. Inventories: Six Critical Systems

As the United States transfers massive amounts of weapons, munitions, and supplies to Ukraine, questions arise about the health of U.S. inventories. Are inventories getting too low? How long will it take to rebuild those inventories? An earlier CSIS commentary identified those inventories that are at risk as a result of transfers to Ukraine. This commentary continues that analysis by examining inventory replacement times. Most inventories, though not all, will take many years to replace. For most items, there are workarounds, but there may be a crisis brewing over artillery ammunition.

Traitorous Swine

Do you know what you have cost us? You traitorous swine. You who claim to be American, but have fallen for all of the foreign ideologies, the monarchisms and feudal societies, communism and socialism, who have failed to stand up for the individual rights that were to secure our future, our place at the head of the table in all international exchanges; rights that protect us from invasion until you turned on us. We are now pleaders and beggars on the world stage and this place was secured by your filthy ideology of weakness as strength, of inner turmoil rather than outer rigid defense. You opened the doors and let our enemies in, encouraged them, complimented them and looked over your shoulder at those who had built everything, created and invented everything and curled your nose and sneered “racists.”

VDH Commentary: Identity Politics Absurdities and the Ridiculousness of Reparations

The last time racial reparations made the major news was on the eve of September 11, 2001 attacks. The loss of 3,000 Americans, which for a time fueled a new national unity, quickly dispelled the absurdities of the reparation movement, and turned our attention toward more existential issues.

Now the idea is back in vogue again. Here are 10 reasons why the nation’s – and especially California’s – discussions of reparatory payouts are dangerous in a multiracial state, and why reparations are not viable either in an insolvent state or a bankrupt nation at large.

CENTENNIAL, Colo. (KDVR) — Authorities in Colorado have not found any evidence that employees at Taco Bell in Aurora put rat poison in a customer’s food — and now deputies cannot get in contact with the customer who made the allegation.

The man told deputies that he had ordered food from the restaurant around 1 p.m., but waited until around 7 p.m. to eat and then he became very ill, at which point he called 911 and was taken to the hospital.

Hey, at least they're bagging it up for you

HOUSTON - One northwest Harris County community is dealing with a stinky situation, literally. A woman says she's had bags of human waste thrown into her backyard several times.

Leah Kitchens says her family moved to a home in a subdivision north of the Jersey Village city limits in February 2022. That's when she noticed the unusual Kroger bags, around 20 or 25, in her backyard. Initially, she assumed they were bags of dog poop being thrown over her fence by those on the walking trail. But, she soon discovered that was not the case.

A Look at California in 1851, Two Years Into the Gold Rush

For anyone familiar with California in modern times, it is difficult to imagine what the state must have been like during the California Gold Rush. The famous gold discovery at Sutter’s Mill happened in 1848, but it wasn’t until 1849 that news of the discovery reached the East Coast and the rest of the world. That news transformed the nation, and the great rush to California was on.

The 1851 map “A New Map of the Gold Region in California” illustrates what California looked like just two years after the start of the 1849 gold rush.

Heartbreak and Loss

Loss of loved ones and heartache are a constant part of life. It’s often something that we think we will never get over, that it is a wound that we will bear for the rest of our life. But heartache is a reality that has been a part of mankind since the beginning. The first man died. His wife died. His children died. It will be like that until the end. But this can be an encouragement to us, when we realize we are not the only one that is going through this, and as others survive and move on, so can we.

Connecticut Democrats are working to lower the physical fitness requirements for female firefighters, saying that less onerous standards will make fire departments "more diverse."

A law introduced earlier this month in the Connecticut State Assembly would let women skip the Candidate Physical Ability Test, a timed gauntlet used by fire departments across the country. The test, which only 10 to 15 percent of women pass, requires candidates to complete intense physical tasks while wearing a 50 pound vest. It’s designed to simulate the experience of navigating a fire in heavy gear—and to weed out those unable to do so.

Concerning the chicken feed post yesterday.....

So yesterday everybody and their mother sent in a link from The Gateway Pundit about how TSC's Producer's Pride feed and DuMoore's scratch grains are causing chickens to completely quit laying.
As I said yesterday, my five Daisys have been eating that shit from Day One and they laid their first eggs right after Christmas, and are now giving me at least 3 and sometimes 4 eggs a day which is perfectly normal for Buff Orpingtons. Yesterday I got four.
And this morning, one of my two older birds, the Naked Neck, laid her first egg of the season after taking a couple three months off for the winter. What do I feed her? You guessed it - Producer's Pride feed and DuMoore's scratch grains. Apparently Annie didn't get the word that she shouldn't be laying any more eggs.

Putin ally says West's deliveries of new weapons to Kyiv will lead to global catastrophe

(Reuters) - A close ally of President Vladimir Putin said on Sunday that deliveries of offensive weapons to Kyiv that threaten Russia's territories will lead to a global catastrophe and make arguments against using weapons of mass destruction untenable.

Yeah, about that chicken feed article.....

Online claims have emerged, corroborated by others, that the popular “Producer’s Pride” chicken feed sold by the Tractor Supply chain has been recently altered and that its new formulation is causing chickens to stop laying eggs. Some suggest a deliberate reduction in the amount of protein in the feed may be causing the reduction in egg production.

*****

I've gotten this link via email and comments at least a half dozen times today, and here's my reply:

I feed my 5 laying birds DuMoore scratch (mentioned in another article) and Producer's Pride layer feed, both from Tractor Supply, and am getting 3-4 eggs a day which is right at normal for their breed. Matter of fact, I just got back from town where I bought another bag of each.
If it is true and it's caused by a lack of protein, it's easy enough to boost that by throwing them some shredded meat scraps, diced hardboiled eggs or dried meal worms.

I actually stumbled across the article in another publication a few days ago and shined it on because I had just walked in with 4 eggs from 5 birds in my hands.
The Daisys have been fed Producer's Pride from Day 1, first the crumbles, then the starter, and now the mini pellet layer feed and I haven't seen a single issue because of it. They're cranking out eggs full speed.
My two older hens quit laying in late November as they've always done in the past, and I figure they'll start laying again in about another month.
I suspect the content in this article is nothing but internet bullshit. I may be wrong and trust me, if my hens suddenly quit laying, I'll let you know.
