BRIDPORT, Vt. (WCAX) - Police say they arrested the Addison County state’s attorney after she showed up at a potential crime scene exhibiting signs of intoxication and refused to take field sobriety tests.
She had probably just returned from moose hunting that evening. In Vermont this time of year, all the drunks dress up in orange, grab guns, and go wander around in the woods.
Hilarious! I used to live in Bridport and two of my kids are still in Middlebury. I just sent a copy of this article to all my kids ... as a little "news from home." This is on the western side of the Green Mountains, about middle of the state. No moose. Most of the drunks dressed up in orange (the "pumpkins") are New Yorkers come from across the lake. This is snow mobile season anyway, not hunting. The local drunks are out "ski-dooing."

ReplyDeleteFWIW, Vermont doesn't require hunters to wear orange. Makes it harder to find all of the drunks in the woods.
