CA law banning most firearms in public is taking effect as the legal fight over it continues

A California law that bans people from carrying firearms in most public places took effect on New Year's Day, even as a court case continues to challenge the law.

A U.S. district judge issued a ruling Dec. 20 to block the law from taking effect, saying it violates the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution and deprives people of their ability to defend themselves and their loved ones.

  1. But of course newsome and the other special people will be protected by guns where ever they go. I like it when the communists screw up and don't exempt the po po in their unconstitutional bills .

    1. From the text of the bill (SB2) signed by Newsom...

"shall not apply to, or affect, any of the following:
      (A) A duly appointed peace officer...
      (B) A retired peace officer with authorization to carry concealed weapons".

Newsom and the legislature DID exempt the popo. They always do.

  2. I can imagine a responsible citizen caught with a legally owned gun will be punished harshly. This compared to the thug who goes on a shooting spree and is rewarded by democrats with an attaboy for increasing the gun murder count that democrats then of course blame on responsible citizen gun owners.
    Gotit.
