California: "Let's not hurt their feelings"

A new state law is now in effect, putting more restrictions on when and how law enforcement agencies can share a suspect's mug shot with the public on social media.

The change does not just apply to future social media posts. It also requires police and sheriff's departments to scrub through posts from years ago and remove them.

  1. Another wonderful law written by a southern California Democrat with too much time on her hands. Just another one of the +/- 1000 bills signed into law by the Golden Boy.

If your state has a part time legislature be thankful.

  2. Another limit on telling the people what is going on.

  3. I don't know , shouldn't a bit of public shaming (not to mention it is nice to know who the dirt balls are) be part of the process ? Act like a dirtball , get treated how you deserve.

  4. If a police officer's body cam is public knowledge then any mugshot should be public knowledge. Or take a person's mugshot with a police officer standing there with his body camera on.
