Don't say you weren't warned

In Florida, state law requires that people report a body that they come across to the proper authorities.

Failing to do so could result in a misdemeanor offense.

However, State Sen. Linda Stewart has sponsored SB-768, which would up the penalties from a misdemeanor to a felony. That bill passed the committee by a unanimous vote on Tuesday.

  1. We're already up to three felonies per day. So they want to add a fourth?

They don't have better things to do than this?

    1. You run across a dead body every day? And Democrats don't count, they're only brain-dead.

  2. So I'm curious...the title of the article is "Florida bill would crack down on illegal body dumping"...this seems to imply that there are LEGAL ways to dump a body?

  3. “Because I guess (sheriffs) have to get a warrant, and they won’t give them a warrant unless it’s a felony charge.”
Great. Laws are now being proposed on guesses of what LEO's have to do, as opposed to actual facts.

    1. They don't need - or want - proof.

  5. Wait, burying a dead body (that you didn't kill) in your backyard is not a felony?

  6. I can see the new “To Catch a Corpse”, where the police will dump a dead body with hidden cameras and data capture and after a few days of it stinking up the area, arrest everyone that stopped to look. Sounds like another money grab.
