A 20-year-old man and his 17-year-old girlfriend will spend the next six decades behind bars after they formulated a plan to kill her parents, court records show.
The couple, Dahlia Bolin and Nathaniel Maloney, pleaded guilty on Tuesday to murder, attempted murder and conspiracy to commit murder, at the Tazewell County courthouse near Peoria, Illinois.
Most people are emotionally-reacting, instant gratification motivated. That's OK at a football or baseball game, but lots don't follow the Dirty Harry rule: "A man's gotta know his limits".
I went to Middle School and High School with a guy that did exactly this. He was 17 at the time and after spending some years in prison he finally won some appeal that had to do with him being a minor and some kind of procedural screw up and got out. He always wore one of those fringed leather jackets and matching fringe top moccasin boots with a knife in the side. Believe it or not there weren't any rules against knives in school back then.
