They have good neighborhoods in Houston?

HOUSTON - Although Houston can be a great place to live, you do have to think about your safety when choosing a neighborhood.

Online apartment finder, PropertyClub used 2021 and 2022 crime statistics to list the 10 most dangerous neighborhoods in Houston.

*****

Man, I check a Houston station every morning for news to post and I've pretty much come to the conclusion that Houston is not a town I'd even want to visit.

  1. I have to say Houston certainly has it's nice side. Been to a couple of events there last year including our son's wedding and a concert at The Hobby Center and had a real good time.

  2. Damn Democrats. When I was young I visited many cities that were a great place to visit then but I wouldn't go there today; Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, San Francisco, LA.
    All destroyed by Democrats.

  3. I think Houston is pretty much the Memphis of Texas.

  4. Lived in Houston briefly in '78-79. Did a lot of business/personal visits over the years since leaving. Even way back then, watched a couple of thugs jacking rounds into semi-autos as they prepared to go into a KMart. There was also the traffic. Oh, and did I mention the heat + humidity. By the way, the water roaches are about 3-4" long. Lots of them to choose from.

  5. Having a list with Sugarland and Sunnyside on it is laughable. It would be the same for a New Yorker seeing the South Bronx and the Upper East Side together, just sayin.

  6. I grew up there. Houston was reasonably safe thru the 70's. Bussing caused white flight and down she went.
Katrina dumped the trash from New Orleans in Houston and that sealed the deal.

    1. "White Flight" in reality was just government-sponsored ethnic cleansing of the urban centres. It takes a different cast when you consider that suburbanization was a defensive response in part to cold war theoretical canned sunshine unaliving of cities in MineCraft.

  7. River Oaks is quite nice, to say the least.

  8. 60 year Native Houstonian here, former (I'm) Mexican ghetto rat ... great place to live, work, and raise a family. Stay the fudge away from Section 8 housing areas and folks without fathers. The places listed have always been bad with the exception of Sugarland.

As for visiting, Houston puts the bore into boring.

  9. Houston has always been a city that you never want to visit.

  10. So, basically ALL of Houston. I lived there. Left in 2010. Will not go back.

  11. Living in Houston until 2015, i saw the inexorable, planned destruction ( planned. as is the current national destruction). Half breed perv greatly accelerated it by forcibly relocating nigerian/kenyans with questionable iq’s and certifiable Enemies. then he forced importation of multiple various “pathogens” non-native to usa, by overriding prevailing medical science. he greatly accelerated allah medical personnel to kill (literally) the “locals”/native americans. he compelled by medical regulations that the pooh man country provide almost all medical supplies. pleas of protest with overwhelming evidence of financial as well as supply composition fell on deaf ears. i could go on and on.
there is a precious thin veneer of “normalcy”. a lot of head in the sand, willing ignorance.
sure, for now, there are a few precious pockets of “normalcy”, but when the first domino falls…

    1. The education system there is obviously sub-par given the composition of your comment.

  12. Presently live in the Houston area, yes there are some real interesting places. It got super bad after Katrina, a more... diverse population came in droves, and crime continues to skyrocket.

The public schools in Ft Bend County that have all the awesome programs, are all places in schools that have 3000 Hispanics, 3600 Black, and 16 White kids. Serious! All of the good programs are shifted to such schools, it's all there on their county website. My kid was quite intimidated when trying to find one she felt comfortable at, which she didn't.

In my area, it's fairly safe to go walking at night. Of course, I am always armed, and have a huge distrustful white dog that would happily make a snack of anyone approaching. Everyone in my home can handle most types of weapons contained therein, with standing orders to shoot if invaded/broken into. The good thing, is my neighbors all have plans to do the same. Oh yeah, and I have awesome neighbors for the most part. Chatty, kind, no BS, and mostly reasonable in conversation.

  13. Houston don't stand alone. How about they start a new TV Reality show: "America's got Bad Ass Hoods" and have the big, Democrat cities compete for "The baddest Mother Fucker Village in the Country" prize. Sorry The "Villages" in Florida youse guys are too old and white to enter. The judges could be Michelle O'Bama, Whoopi Goldberg, Oprah Winfried and Meghan Markle.

    1. Sheet. I prefer Running Man. Except just looking like diversity or having an apostrophe in your name qualifies one as a conteestant.

  14. Houston is worth going to visit to the space center.
    That's about it.
There are better coastal cities on the gulf coast of Texas to spend time in

    1. Technically, NASA and the space center are in the Clear Lake and Webster area, although I think Clear Lake has been absorbed by Houston. It's good drive south-east of what you would consider downtown, more like a close suburb. I live about 10 minutes away from it, drive past every morning on the way to work.

There are some really nice suburbs, but as others mention you have to pay attention to the flood history. And remember that you're always about 15 minutes away from some place you don't wanna be. Stay strapped or get clapped.

  15. Lived in Pearland for 2 years in 1989 - '90. Every time it rains it floods somewhere. Worked at the Hobby Airport. You better get used to sloshing around in 6 inches of water every time it even sprinkles. They don't call it " Stink-a-Dina " {Pasadena} for nothing. Smelled awful at least half the year because of the refineries in Pasadena. Was told by many locals not to be inside Loop 610 {circles downtown Houston} after dark because ' I wasn't the right shade.' The Fire ants get into EVERYTHING & they are everywhere. I would rather change Kenny's bedpan than go within 500 miles of Houston. Not fit for human habitation.

  18. My Houston neighborhood is pretty safe- considering it's 3 hours west of it.

  19. The worst three years of my life were spent in Houston, fire ants, snakes, torrential rain, traffic, crime. Never going back.

  21. Called to make reservations for very first cruise. Departure options were Houston or Florida. What the hell; Houston. Black reservation agent said "Honey, you don't want to do that." About a year later a YouTube video showed a riot on cruise ship departed from Houston. Not one white person in the riot. WHEW!
