#6- We have a small Amish community near my hometown, around 35 miles north of where I live now. They had 2 bicyclists hit by an SUV that didn't see them, and killed one, put the other in the hospital. They were brother and sister, riding home from somewhere. The entire area is in shock, and the community is in mourning. I always am startled to see horse drawn buggies and such on the roads here, but in Michigan horses have the right of way on the roads.
I have an uncle with only one leg because a couple of Amish Yoots in Rumspringa ran into him with a 'worldly' pickup truck while he was on a riding mower. It goes both ways.
Amish buggies and bikes are common here in S.Centrak Kentucky, fortunately they’ve taken to butting small red strobe lights on the buggies during nighttime. The strobes have likely save more than one life.
