An 18-year-old man who hijacked a BMW—but gave up when he couldn’t figure out how to operate the car’s transmission—ran down the street and carjacked another driver, prosecutors say.
Not charged for the crime of carjacking which carries a more serious sentence. No explanation why, but we can guess. Until we go back to putting scum like this in prison for most of their life they will continue to commit crimes. It's all they know.
The US seems to be a lot keener on automatic transmissions than the rest of the world. In the UK just about everyone passes their driving test in a car with a manual transmission. You can take your test in an auto but then you aren't legally allowed to drive anything else so most people don't, unless they have a disability.
A manual transmission is an anti-theft, and anti-borrow sure-thing.
ReplyDeleteYep

Well they also know how to father the next generation of criminals.

ReplyDeleteYou can hardly find a standard transmission on a car anymore that isn't used.
DeleteI just taught my oldest son to drive a standard transmission after he bought a car with one. Painful at first, but he figured it out.
The car was an automatic and just had a button that needed to be pushed. Morons gotta moron.
DeleteHappened in Chicago so guessing the race was a no brainer.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to install a bolt-action 3 speed when I do my roadster.
ReplyDelete"Why does this auto have three pedals?"
