#2- I have had my car like that many times. If the car is like that, the roads are likely that way as well. So you wait until it warms up, before you try to drive. #9- I had a friend, since passed away, who was a body shop owner. His main jobs were from car dealerships, where he would fix brand new cars that were delivered to the dealer, needing a touch up for small dents and scratches. No doubt the dealers did not tell any customer that the car had ever had any damage fixed.
#2. When I lived on the Northern Tier I quickly learned to use a tarp as a storm shield over the windshield and doors. Kept the ice off, and made clearing frost very simple.
Because they're idiots. Notice too they struggled to lift. They're weak too. They should know that stone has little tensile strength.
I installed many a slab. I'd use 5/8th plywood to lift on top of the cabinets. Then ice pucks (empty snuff can perfect to make the ice) to slide the slab off the plywood. Never broke a slab.
The major building supplies company in Oz has been forced to remove engineered stone slabs from their catalogue, as the installers were too dumb to wear PPE when cutting it to shape, and were dying from silicosis.
Compared to what? They look good (if you pick the right granite). They are impervious to hot things placed on them. They clean up easily. So many alternatives suck too, for their own reasons.
