A man named LeGrand Richards had to have a leg amputated late in his life. When asked about it he'd say "I always knew God would take me out of this life a piece at a time. I'm just glad he started at that end." He'd also do that "I'm on my last leg" joke too.
There was once a member of the Army Marksmanship Unit at Fort Benning who had lost a leg in the sandbox and then got a license plate that more-or-less read 1LEGGER.
My dad who lost his leg in ‘95 always answered “I’m on my last leg” whenever anyone asked how he was doing. The face’s people would make!

ReplyDeleteNice... and a great sense of humor
