Newsom told the story moments before a Wednesday press conference involving the mayors of California's big cities.
He said he had the encounter with the Target employee after seeing a shoplifter.
"He picks it up and keeps walking out as we're checking out," Newsom said of the shoplifter he said he witnessed, he then went on to what the employee said, "The woman says, 'Oh, he's just walking out,' 'He didn't pay for that' I said, 'Well, why don't you stop him?' She goes, 'Oh, the governor.'"
What a clueless douchebag. Chances are good it was an entitled dindu walking out with the merch, and Craven Nuisance expects a (probably White) woman to stop him?!? Is he really that detached from reality to suppose that anyone brazen enough to casually walk out carrying something he didn't pay for is going to be shamed into going back to pay for it because some female employee noticed what he was doing?

Exhibit C- If he really did want an item from Target he would send one of his four armed security people in to pick it up for him so that he wouldn't have to soil his Gucci loafers walking though the parking lot.
