    1. Sounds like she ordered the $3 burger instead of the $12 burger with meat. It's not a happy meal.

  2. It looks like an infected bed sore. Pus orange and gangrene red. If I didn't know better I'd say the picture was taken in a Palestine hospital.

  3. Minimum wages are really a tax to provide income supplements to the poor, without the government having to look like the bad guy. It's a tax on employers who then pass the tax on to the consumer.

  4. Was this the precursor to the next story about the couple making roadkill of their server?

  5. Several years ago my wife and I were going on a trip. We asked the neighbor to let our dog out while we were gone. When we got home a few days later we noticed the dog running around. When I asked him about this he said we just told him to let the dog out. It didn't occur to me that we had to tell him to put it back in. -sammy

  6. Shit would get a lot better if they raised it to $50. Imagine how good the burgers would be if it was $100! Damn...

  7. I don't even bother with fast food anymore; prices at these pits are such that a local restaurant or prepared meals from a grocery store are cheaper and better. Not much slower either

  8. I’ll not bother the staff at the fast food joints with these difficult decisions. Bless them

  9. Yeah, the wonders of fiat currency based on debt! $20 today is a teensy bit less than $2.26 in 1968. California minimum wage 1968? $1.65. (Federal was $1.60) That's a $0.58 cent difference.

Average yearly earnings for all families in 1960 was $5,600. ( https://www2.census.gov/library/publications/1962/demographics/p60-37.pdf )

Divide that by 52 weeks, $107.68 per week. Divide that by 40 hrs per week: $2.69 per hour. By 1970 that had "risen" to around $3. So minimum wage in California in 1968 was lower than the average national wage in 1960. Ain't math great?

You're making a funny point/meme about people getting paid $0.58 more per hour (adjusted for inflation) than the California government required in 1968. ($0.66 more than the federal government required) The problem isn't the payrate. The problem is the devalued, worthless paper, and the apocalyptically lower mean IQ from importing the dregs of the world since 1965.

Bring back the gold standard, ban all immigration, deport every illegal and "dreamer", and we'll be in slightly better shape.
