Idiot in late model sedan rear ended me. His hood crumpled and he ran over his front bumper. Not even a scratch on my truck bumper. I couldn't tell where he hit me.
Jammin' down a canyon to the Berkeley Lab, Headlights tailgating me since the HWY, so close most times they disappear (had been a bad commute, zero tolerance for BS).. I don't brake, but coast to slow,(driven this stretch for 23 years, very familliar with the road conditions don't crowd me, please) no light behind me... Break hard! (must've been a squirrel!) Bam! they hit me hard enough to launch my lunch-bag into the floorboards. I rolled forward and stopped... waiting...wait... expected a chimpout (very close to Oakland)...wait... n.o.t.h.i.n.g. "Hold!" Had a camp axe and a limbing axe handy. Vikingr gotta' Viking! "Hold!"They never moved, I drove away... Their headlights looked funny after that. How close does a car have to be that you can't see their lights!?!? Cracked a bit of the rear plastic bumper step on the F-150. That was a few years ago. Truck finally died after 300K mi. Waiting on the tow truck now. Really!
#8 - We get orders like that every now and again. One time, they managed to puncture both cans of a 2-part epoxy coating. That was Friday. By Monday the pallet and everything was firmly affixed to the floor. How you sign for a shipment and not notice something like that is beyond me.
#2 I'm seeing so many pix/videos these days of cars with collapsed wheels and with wheels flying off while moving... Was it always like this and we just didn't see them until everyone had cameras, or has the drive [no pun intended] to make cars lighter to meet CAFE requirements caused the wheel attachments to be made weaker?
#1 Took a car in for what I thought was a bad wheel bearing and was told it was road noise. Another, better, mechanic replaced the wheel bearing before the wheel fell off. #2 Had a tire replace. Started hearing odd noises 300 miles from home. Turned out the lug nuts hadn't been torqued properly. Two lugs were busted off, the three remaining nuts were loose. 100 mile towing coverage is mighty handy. Simple incompetence can explain a lot.
#10. Is that DOCTOR Jill doing a slo-joe move?
ReplyDeleteYe, that's the bitch!
DeleteHat tip to the guy on the left for throwing her to the ground!
Delete#3 why I will never own a glass table top & the fact they are hard to clean and need another person to help flip the glass to do so.
ReplyDelete#6, yeah, how many times.....
ReplyDelete5) In all seriousness I hate to see a stage fall, I don't care who it is.
ReplyDelete#6 Still have a curved coat hanger with a hooked end to handle those situations.
ReplyDelete#7 The car is beat up some, but no damage to shopping cart. Yes modern cars are so well made!

Wouldn't have scratched the paint on 1962 Buick station wagon.
DeleteSame thing happened to my brother. He laughed. -sammy

I love #5. Looks like a lot of good times have been had there. Next time I'm in Fort Worth, I'll give it a try.
ReplyDelete#5 - Cue the drum solo.
