Biden's budget proposal for a second term offers tax breaks for families and lower health care costs

MANCHESTER, N.H. — (AP) — President Joe Biden on Monday released a budget proposal aimed at getting voters' attention: It would offer tax breaks for families, lower health care costs, smaller deficits and higher taxes on the wealthy and corporations.

Unlikely to pass the House and Senate to become law, the proposal for fiscal 2025 is an election year blueprint about what the future could hold if Biden and enough of his fellow Democrats win in November. The president and his aides previewed parts of his budget going into last week's State of the Union address, and they provided the fine print on Monday.

Yeah, somehow I don't see a tax break for anybody happening - we've got wars that are none of our business to fund and millions of illegals to support. It's not going to come from the wealthy, they'll all be departing for more ta-friendly locales.

  1. The tax system is set up by the rich with loopholes and such. The very wealthy do not exactly get a weekly paycheck.

  2. Dumbass. He's been in government long enough to know that taxing corporations only increases prices for their customers. What does he want? $45 Big Macs?

  3. Tax breaks for the middle class. Yep. It will break their backs.
Buying votes is illegal, but if you OWN the legal system you get to do whatever you want.

  4. Yep lets raise taxes on the people that creat jobs so they will stop creating jobs. Raising taxes on the wealthy always stiffles economic growth and hurts less well off working people first. There was never been a democrat who understands how an economy works, never, not even one. Trump lowered taxes across all income levels and the economy surged upward and everyone was better off.

  5. If he wanted to lower taxes and healthcare costs, why didn't he do it during his first term, thereby making everyone happy and flush with cash? Why wait until the second term, whe he becomes a lame duck, and will be soundly ignored by both sides of congress, and everyone else?

    1. And when this budget proposal fails, it will be "Evil Republicans WANT you to live in poverty!"

  6. One of my employees was overjoyed that his personal taxes were down for 2023 so he was getting more money back, and his check would be slightly bigger in 2024....and that's what's so wonderful about Democrats...they look out for the little guy and make corporations pay their fair share.

I turned around and said "Those evil corporations are getting a tax hike from ~21% to ~28% this year, and it doesn't come out of profits--it comes out of corporate income...so I need to cut about $8k from our expenses or we won't be in business by the end of the year because our profit margin isn't that big...aren't we paying you $6,500/mo plus around $1,200k/mo in taxes behind the scenes? I really wish the Trump tax cuts were still in place, because I could probably afford to keep you..."

The look on his face as the penny dropped was amazing.

  7. Voter harvesting alert: Most illegals have no health care plan costs because they go to the emergency room (where Americans subsidize the cost through their high-cost medical insurance plans). Usually, they have never filed a tax return in the past, but they will file and report making no income to get money back for health care costs they never use on health care plans. You’re being DP’d taxpayers.

  8. Lower Healthcare costs? How exactly are they going to do that? Pay less for equipment? Pay doctors and nurses less? Oh, they didn't mean lower costs, they meant have me pay for other people again... every damn time.

  9. And corporations NEVER pay taxes...only their customers and shareholders pay these taxes.
