"Don't make me put my hands on you!"

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — The Oklahoma County Jail is rolling out new technology aimed at deescalating situations with inmates.

The new equipment is essentially taser gloves. These gloves will emit an electric shock similar to a taser, but not as high in voltage.

  1. The guards wear them when doing body cavty searches?

  5. We had those in the jail I worked at in Franklin Kentucky. They do the trick.

  6. Potential ethical issues aside if you could time the tasing so it goes when you punch someone that would be money.

  7. Figures, half the guys reading this thought about using the gloves on their peckers!
Would of been nice if a link to where to buy the gloves were included... for a friend...

  9. Saw the CEO present these at a conference. It’s low-voltage & non-lethal since the shock is only skin deep. They’re only available to LEO & prison guards.

  10. Heck, Kenny, I think this is, for once, a step in the right direction, for guards and prisoners alike. I know my neighbor who was a prison guard for the second half of HER working career would have felt a lot better to have those on. Instead, she developed the quickest draw in the system, for the times when she couldn't just psych them into backing off.

I mean, yeah, she was working with "the worst of the worst" but I think that was back when the worst of the worst were a lot less psychopathic than the average inmate in prison now, so she might not have had to hit the vigilance button quite so hard at every shift.

  11. Sounds like a good idea at the start, until they are used for inflicting pain when it isn’t warranted. Just for the pleasure of the dickheads using them. Happens EVERY time humans are given power over others.
Just like the regular tasers, which have been used on handcuffed kids. (and I don’t mean the bullshit 19 yo kids, I’m talking 14 yo kids)
The orcs can not be trusted!
