The El Dorado County Sheriff's Office said the attack happened around 1:13 p.m. in a remote area near Georgetown. An 18-year-old reported that he and his 21-year-old brother were attacked by the lion near Skid and Darling Ridge roads while they were antler shed hunting.
This is an order of operations issue. It’s way better to kill the cat BEFORE it kills the human.
ReplyDeleteI wish the fuck they'd euthanize human killers that fast and leave the poor kitties alone.
ReplyDeleteThe Script-
ReplyDelete"Mountain Lion attacks in California are very rare. If you see one, make yourself look as large as possible and shout loudly."
Then they generally add that the euthanized killer cat will be taken to the F&G lab to see if there is a possible reason it did what it did. Like it needs a reason to do what cats were born to do.
Naturally, never mentioned is that it might be handy to pack a sidearm. But then in the land of fudge packing animal lovers, open carry is illegal.
Years ago the enviroweenies forced a Wildlife Commissioner of the state board for a legal hunt out of state of a mountain lion.
ReplyDeleteHuh? Either I'm drunk or you are.
DeleteYou're drunk, snuffy.

Dan Richards was not only a hunter and a member of the commission, he was the President of the California Fish and Game Commission. We can't have that, can we?
I think Kamala Harris posted under "Brian". Sounded like one of her word salad quotes.
DeleteSurprised a cougar would attempt to take down a Commiefornian; since most probably taste like tofu and kale.
ReplyDeleteThey don't really eat them... They take one bite and spit it out.
DeleteWhy would you go out into the woods where there are squonks, mountain lions, and border jumpers wandering about and not bring a side-arm?
ReplyDeleteAs I stated in my comment above, because open carry in California is illegal, even in the woods. A legal challenge to the law, Baird v. Bonta, is working its way through the courts, but in the meantime the law remains in effect, thanks to an appellate decision by the ninth circuit.
DeleteIf you'd say that you'd carry anyway, I'd agree with you. I would too. I wouldn't be in the woods in California today without being armed.
The truly ironic part in all this, is that the lions are still being hunted. Instead of hunters paying the state for hunting licenses, the state now pays professional hunters to shoot the problem cats before they kill someone or eat Fifi from next door. Obviously they missed one.
ReplyDeleteYup with the typical Gov math.
DeletePuma got some.
ReplyDeleteMy first thought is: What provoked the attack? "Here kitty, kitty"
ReplyDeleteHow does it feel to be completely clueless, Anon?
DeleteSo... what caliber do you use to hunt shed antlers?
ReplyDeleteHere in SW Oregon, cougars, coyotes, and bears are everywhere. Oregon only gives me a tag for a cougar if I lose an animal. We've lost a couple dairy goats over the years, which is why we have a whole pack of livestock guardian dogs. They bark all night, but the predators go elsewhere. As for CA, there is no more pure form of "bearing arms" than open carry, and anyone who enforces a ban on bearing arms is an oath breaker.
