Sen. Steve Stadelman (D-Rockford) introduced the Journalism Preservation Act (SB3591), which would require Meta, Google, and other social media companies to pay news outlets a usage fee for each time a publisher’s content is displayed to Illinois users.
Gi ahead.
ReplyDeleteI meant to say "go ahead"
ReplyDeleteThey threaten to do this or that but don't do jack shit about the scammers all over their damn site
ReplyDeleteThat whole site is a scam.
DeleteNews on Facebook? That's an oxymoron...
ReplyDeleteAll that honest news Facebook is posting?
ReplyDeleteI'm confused - and five beers in. But, why would content providers (news outlets) not be happy with links to their articles being on Facebook? It drives clicks. Isn't that what they all want?
ReplyDeleteAs long as the entire article isn't on Facebook, I would imagine a link to the article would be golden.
BTW, Fuck Facebook.
There is conflicting statements. It says news content from news outlets. I did think there is news content, only opinion pieces and lies. So they should be good to publish any link.
ReplyDeleteI stopped my fb account during the stolen election. Friends and family say aren’t you over that? Or you really don’t believe that cause Trump will still go to Prison. I’m like eventually We the People will wind up there if evil has its way. What a mess.
ReplyDeleteSen. Steve Stadelman shills for the news media. The asswipe used to be a shitty TV reporter. He's just padding his future as a Dem. in a Rep district. ie,,,Adam Kinzinger
ReplyDeleteWell, Illinois did win me and my wife a few hundred dollars each a couple years ago in a class action suit for privacy violations.
