MINERAL POINT, Wis. (Spectrum News) - A Dollar General store in Wisconsin was closed after all its employees quit at the same time.
Trina Tribolet was the general manager at the Dollar General in Mineral Point for about a year. After their shift Friday, she and five other staff members left notes on the door saying they all quit.
Quit with a note on the door? Sorry, no sale. Unless the regional manager comes in every day with a bullwhip or something. That's just childish & wrong. Grow up.
Fred in Texas, I've dealt with corporate america. Management won't show up with a bullwhip. Management wont show up at all until the staff revolts. Then its just "replace them all, they're interchangeable assets." And if by chance upper management shows up before the last employee leaves, they'll just gaslight them as long as they can, before replacing them with a more malleable and controllable staff. Kind of like demoncrats and RINOs...
Our local Dollar has only been open for a few years and has had a new manager every couple of months. Hard to hire people to work there with the low pay, long hours, and little time off.
Ha! Remember the employee that got fired because her BF stood there at the counter all day so she wouldn't get hit on? DG & Family Dollar stores are the pits. - WDS
Had the same problem at one by me. The corporation sucks, treat their workers like shit, pay them peanuts and expect them to wear 16 different hats.
ReplyDeleteJon Oliver has a very good program segment about this.

A damning video. A link if you have old eyes like mine and can barely see the hyperlink.

"especially when they have customers who rely on them"
ReplyDeleteRely? It's a freaking Dollar General, not a pharmacy or grocery store.
Some places it is THE grocery store....
DeleteThe ignorant mock what they do not understand.

ReplyDeleteI've been in the local one quite a few times. My drive my disabled brother there. A lot of needy people rely on it.
