The looooong arm of the law

SPRING HILL, Tenn. (WKRN) – A suspected scam artist wanted by the Spring Hill Police Department was identified thanks to a News 2 viewer all the way in England.

In August 2023, News 2 reported on an alleged quick change artist who confused a cashier and stole more than $1,000 from a Spring Hill Walmart store. The story aired locally, but it was also seen by a police officer in England who recognized the prime suspect in Tennessee and contacted Spring Hill police.

  1. Even though they have her name, photo and a complete dossier from UK investigators and a compilation of crimes in the states, they still can’t find the woman. Yet, you can be in DC on J6 2021 and have a Company of commandos and swat show up at your door for having been seen near the Capitol.

  2. I thought "quick change artist" had something to do with changing clothes quickly. They didn't explain how the scam worked, and they didn't show a picture so the public could have a chance to recognize her. Found this on YouTube to see who she is and what she does. https://youtu.be/_0QlTaGwHJI?si=KDmhD1pYOtlMTupN

    1. Yeah, they used the wrong term in the story. A quick change 'artist' is a performer who changes clothes or costumes quickly. A quick change 'scammer' is someone who plays tricks or games on a cashier in order to con them out of money via confusion.
