@Rob Do a search on DIY Induction Hardening. You should get your answer there. Short/sweet: Yes you can do it at home. No, you won't cripple your finances.
Many years ago, my Wolf Chow, Sophie, had the "Big Dog" TPLO surgery, which left her crate-confined for 3 months.
The 3 months was up the day after Christmas, so I took her out to the back yard and unclipped the lead. She looked at me as though she as wondering if I meant it, and then bolted.
The back yard is a bit over a quarter acre, and I swear she covered every square inch at top speed.
I had a camera with me and have replayed the video several times since I lost her. She was so happy that day.
Had a beautiful 120lb German Shepherd family dog. One morning, out of the blue she tried to kill my 3y/o son in the driveway. Luckily, she was tethered to my trailer hitch. She got about two inches from him. She's gone in two hours. Stills chills me.
#4 - What a friggin idiot, doing magnetic heating right over the bed of his lathe. Great way to destroy the precision ground bed of said lathe. Dumbass.
#4. I need this for melting all the lead and brass I have.

DeleteHow much electricity do you have to put thru that to get those results?
DeleteThey didn't have that in the Roman empire when they were making swords.
